Mitchell Grunsky, MD

Dr. Grunsky was born and raised in the midlands of SC. He enjoyed playing sports and water skiing during high school. He attended The College of Charleston where he graduated cum laude with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He then attended the University of South Carolina graduating magna cum laude and was elected to the AOA honor society. After marrying his wife Nicole, he moved to Concord NC to complete his Family Medicine Residency where he served as Chief Resident his final year. After completing his training, Dr. Grunsky accepted a position at Colonial Family Practice in 2004 and later became a partner in the practice. While practicing in Sumter Dr. Grunsky became Board Certified in Sleep Medicine and is the director of the Colonial Sleep Lab. Dr. Grunsky also has an interest in Sports Medicine and has worked with both the Sumter High and USC Sumter athletic departments. In his free time Dr. Grunsky enjoys coastal fishing, turkey hunting, and catching shrimp. He and his wife are also actively involved in their church Trinity UMC, serving as youth volunteers for multiple years and participating in multiple international medical mission trips. Dr. Grunsky also volunteers at the United Ministries Free Medical Clinic on Tuesday nights.
