James “JB” Mitchell, PA-C, is a physician assistant at our urgent care location with two years of experience as a PA and five years of prior experience as a medical technician. He earned his degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).

JB chose a career in medicine because he wanted to be someone patients can rely on during their most vulnerable moments; not only to treat symptoms, but to listen, explain, and offer support through uncertainty. As a PA, he values the balance of clinical expertise and meaningful patient connection.

His approach to care is thorough, clear, and practical. He focuses on understanding the full picture so he can recommend care plans that truly fit each patient’s life. JB believes good medicine goes beyond making the right diagnosis. It also means ensuring patients feel confident in and able to follow their care plan. Outside of work, JB enjoys live music, traveling, spending time with family, and playing pickleball.
